Presentations of mass measurement of the A-Qu-A project at the Centre for daily activities for elderly people in Ljubljana
In November, the UP SRC Institute for Kinesiology Research presented mass measurements and training programs for the members of Daily activity centres for seniors. These activities will be carried out along with other partners of the project in spring 2016.
Applications for the participation in the free-of-charge mass measurements are still open.
If you want to know the aspects of healthy ageing, how healthy you are and what can you can for a healthy and independent old age, we invite you to participate in the free mass measurements.
Participants will get direct information about their general health and psychophysical condition right after the measurements.
Participants of the measurements should meet the following requirements:
- individuals over 65,
- individuals living at home independently,
- individuals residing in Ljubljana,
- individuals who feel healthy and able to walk the distance of 2 km without stopping and without the help of any tools.
Measurements will take place in the first half of March 2016 in Ljubljana. A mobile laboratory will be used for this purpose. Measurements will include tests of physical characteristics, physical status (muscular power, strength and balance, analysis of walking and flexibility), dietary picture, the state of mental abilities and lifestyle characteristics.

Presentation of the Active and quality ageing in the home environment (A-Qu-A) project in Črnuče District Community
On Thursday 3rd of December 2015 during the morning hours there was a presentation of the Active and quality ageing in the home environment project in the premises of the Črnuče District Community.
The project was presented by the promotor of the project – The Home Care institute as well as by representatives of the partners and external collaborators. They introduced occupational therapy, practical use of occupational therapy equipment, solutions for adapting homes to increase safety and independence of elderly people, physiotherapy and movement exercises, measurements of the psychophysical status of the elderly; a lecture on healthy eating and food preparation was also given. The event was enriched by the Medis KUD Svoboda choir, which performed with three songs. After the presentation refreshments were served, participants also received a promotional gift.
Invitation to the presentation of the A-Qu-A project at Črnuče District Community
A free presentation of the project A- Qu -A, Active and quality ageing in the home environment will be held on Thursday, 3rd of December 2015 at 10:00 am in Ljubljana – Črnuče District Community, in the hall of the cultural centre Črnuče (Dunajska cesta 367).
Programme:
- introduction of occupational therapy and practical demonstration of therapy equipment,
- introduction of home physiotherapy,
- tips on healthy eating and how to prepare food,
- introducing solutions for adapting homes to increase safety and independence of elderly people,
- introducing measurements of the psychophysical state of senior citizens,
- measuring blood pressure and sugar levels,
- mixed choir Medis KUD Svoboda.
There is no admission to the event. Refreshments will be served after the presentation; all the participants will also receive a practical gift. Welcome.
Presentation of the Active and quality ageing in the home environment project in the Posavje District Community
On Thursday 19th of November 2015 during the morning hours a presentation of the A- Qu –A, Active and quality ageing in the home environment project was held in the premises of the Posavje District Community.
The project was presented by the promotor of the project – The Home Care institute as well as by representatives of the partners and external collaborators.
Citizens were presented occupational therapy and practical application of occupational therapy equipment, solutions for adapting homes to increase safety and independence of elderly people, movement exercises with a physiotherapist, psychophysical measurements of the status of the elderly and also advice on healthy eating and food preparation. Refreshments were served after the presentation and the participants received a promotional gift.
Invitation to the free presentation of the A-Qu-A project at the Posavje District Community
There will be a free presentation of the project “A- Qu -A ‘ Active and quality ageing in the home environment’ in the Posavje District Community, at Bratovševa ploščad 30, on Thursday 19th November 2015 at 10 am.
Programme:
- introduction of occupational therapy and practical demonstration of therapy equipment,
- introducing solutions for adapting homes to increase safety and independence of elderly people,
- ‘Practice memory to live merrily’,
- tips on healthy eating and how to prepare food,
- measuring blood pressure and sugar level.
At the end refreshments will be served to the participants and they will all also receive a practical gift. Project A- Qu -A is co-financed under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism from 2009 to 2014.
Presentation of the project A- Qu -A in the Polje District Community
During the morning hours of Thursday 5th of November 2015, the presentation of the project A- Qu -A – Active and quality ageing in the home environment was held in the premises of the Polje District Community. The project was presented by the promotor of the project – The Home Care institute as well as by representatives of the partners and external collaborators. They introduced occupational therapy, practical use of occupational therapy equipment, solutions for adapting homes to increase safety and independence of elderly people, they presented measurements of the psychophysical status of elderly people, a lecture on healthy eating and food preparation was also given. After the presentation refreshments were served, the event was musically enriched by members of the mixed choir Pentakord.
Project A-Qu-A at the event Knowledge for Health – How to live 100 healthy years
We presented the project A- Qu -A at the event KNOWLEDGE FOR HEALTH, held on Sunday 25th October 2015 , between 9 am and 17 pm.
The event was organized by the University of Primorska, Science and Research Centre and Izola General Hospital. At the event numerous experts gave lectures on the topic of healthy ageing. During the lectures UP SRC Institute for kinesiology research carried out free measurements with a mobile laboratory. Quality ageing in the home environment was discussed at the press conference, where Lilijana Batič, director of the Home Care institute presented the A- Qu –A project.

The free-of-charge presentation of the A-Qu-A, Active and Quality ageing in the home environment project will take place on Thursday, Nov 5th 2015, at Polje 12.

- introducing psychophysical status measurements for elderly citizens,
- tips on healthy eating and how to prepare food,
- measuring blood pressure and sugar levels,
- musical guest: Pentakord choir.
After the presentation refreshments will be served and participants will receive a practical gift. The A-Qu-A project was co-financed with the project Norwegian financial mechanism 2009 – 2014.
Presentation of the A-Qu-A project within the World Occupational therapy day
On Tuesday, Oct 27th we celebrated World Occupational therapy day. In the Shopping centre City park occupational therapy was introduced with stands presenting various therapy equipment that can ease carrying out activities, especially for elderly people. The project Healthy and Quality Ageing in the home environment was introduced to passing people. On this occasion the following leaflets were being handed out: Introducing occupational therapy, the A-Qu-A project and invitations and application forms for adjusting homes to the needs of elderly people.
The response was surprisingly positive as we handed out over 100 leaflets for each area.
